The writer is not without talent by any means, however, I never would have read it if I knew how much animal abuse it contained. The ending wasn't much of a twist, IMHO but seemed to be fitting with the overall tone of the book. I have mixed and conflicting feelings about it TBH but I know that's an unpopular opinion as it seems universally acclaimed on here. Life is disturbing enough as it is and way too short to spend on anything that is just dragging down your spirits. If you aren't getting anything out of it, don't feel compelled to finish it.
